Action 63 DO NOT REPEAL the Legislation that outlawed Nazi training camps!
Hearing Testimony due Monday March 10
Background: Last year Representative Osher from Orono presented LD 2130 An Act to Prohibit Unauthorized Paramilitary Training which, after being amended to address 1st Amendment questions, passed the House of Representatives by a single vote and was signed by Gov. Janet Mills. This law ensures that any paramilitary training activities cannot be exploited to create violent civil disorders. It is essential to maintain this law to protect citizens from potential coercive forces and to uphold the principles of peace and order that define our society.
HOWEVER, Representative White of Guilford, joined by SENATOR HAGGAN (Hancock County) and others, introduced LD 303, An Act to REPEAL the Law Prohibiting Unauthorized Paramilitary Training. Why on earth these legislators would want to encourage
people like the “...neo-Nazi who wanted to create a training center for a “blood tribe”” in the wilds of Maine is beyond understanding. Seems stupid and dangerous, doesn’t it?
