ACTION #51 - Support Maine ERA for All – LD 260
Background: While the national constitutional ERA amendment is – once again – on hold, MAINE is not slacking off. The Maine Women's Lobby has convened the Maine ERA for All! Coalition of organizations working to pass the Inclusive Equal Rights Amendment (LD 260) in Maine's constitution to enshrine equality for ALL into our foundational legal document. You can help get the Maine ERA for ALL Amendment (LD 260) added to the Maine Constitution.
The first step is the Maine Judiciary Committee Hearing next Tuesday March 4 at 1pm. After the hearing, the Committee votes whether it ought to pass, and then the bill goes to the Maine House and Maine Senate for a vote. People will be testifying in person, on zoom and submitting short written testimonials.
Action:

You don't need to be a Maine voter. You can be seasonal.
There is also a Testimony Guide (click HERE!) for all the info you need to get started and write your testimony. The goal is to flood the Judiciary Committee with short written testimonies to show how much support there is in Maine: from individuals, from organizations, churches and also MEN. Please ask your male partners and male friends to write a paragraph as well. It’s suggested that you ask 5 friends to join you in writing paragraphs too.
