ACTION 45 – Send Kudos to Gov. Mills and our Entire Delegation (and others!)
Background: Republican legislator Laurel Libby of Auburn recently “doxxed” a trans student who was playing sports in their preferred gender, posting the name and a recognizable photo of the student online. This has caused pain and suffering to the student, their family, their school and their town. The cruel and shameless Ms. Libby also informed Donald Trump, who then threatened Governor Mills with 100% loss of federal funds if Maine didn’t knuckle under to his demands on this issue. The Governor, and the entire Maine delegation, stood up to Trump, citing the fact that they are complying with state and federal law, and will continue to do so. Whatever you think about the fairness of having transgender students in sports, it is permitted under Maine and federal law. Until the law is changed by those who are authorized to make and change laws, no unlawful executive order by a wannabe dictator should be followed. And NO CHILD should be doxxed. A person who does so has no business being in the Maine legislature and should be sanctioned.
Action: Thank the following for standing up for the rule of law and not being cowed by the bully in chief.
