Action 88: Golden’s Last Chance?
Background: Like you, we are sick and tired of hearing about the SAVE act. It is a blatant voter suppression law, and everybody knows it. But the House is still scheduled to vote on it, rumored to take place in the House this week. Rumor also has it that Jared Golden stubbornly intends to vote for it. One can hope not, but if that happens, we are justified in calling for his replacement and recruiting a strong candidate to run against him in the primary. The people in CD 2 are not fools. Let’s badger Jared one final time tomorrow. We’ll watch his vote this week (although given the growing unpopularity of the bill, it may be pushed back yet again). Be thinking of someone to replace him on the Democratic ticket, in case he fails us. Surely, he’s NOT the only Democrat or currently Unenrolled, non-MAGA-adjacent, intelligent, thoughtful, independent person who can appeal to rural northern Maine!
