Action 85 Tuesdays @ State House with NRCM
Background:
The Natural Resources Council of Maine (NRCM) is a nonpartisan organization with a focus on Maine’s natural environment. It’s been in existence and active since 1959! Find information about the organization and their current priorities HERE . While the legislature is in session in Augusta, NRCM offers a great program called Take Action Tuesdays. NRCM provides breakfast, a short training, and guidance within the State House building, where you meet and speak with your legislators on active bills that you are interested in. No prior experience is necessary in order to participate. NRCM’s experienced staff puts you “in the room” with the elected officials, supports you with the best talking points on current legislation, and stays with you from start to finish. This program is an excellent introduction to “lobbying” for causes that you care about, and its free! All you have to do is sign up, and arrive in Augusta in time for breakfast. Carpool with friends and make a fun day of it!
Typical Tuesday Schedule: NOTE: this Tuesday 4/8/25 it starts at 8 AM!
9:00 AM: Breakfast, introductions, overview, and training
9:30 AM: Head over to State House from NRCM office (0.2 miles)
