THE THEFT OF DEMOCRATIC SIGNS

During the weekend of June 7-8, the Deer Isle / Stonington Democratic Committee distributed more than 50 signs, all posted on private property around the island. The signs said RESIST on one side and SAVE DEMOCRACY on the other, urging action leading up to the June 14 No Kings rallies planned across the country.

Sometime between 12pm and 3pm on Monday June 9, most of the signs - particularly along Rt. 15, 15A and Bridge Street - were stolen. The Sheriff’s office is investigating and we are offering a reward for information leading to the identities of any culprits.
